The adhesion of the thermal transfer print is tested using the ‘tesa tape’ method ( in accordance with the ASTM F2252 standard for adhesive testing). The assessment involves applying and immediately peeling off the tape to check that the ink does not peel away from the surface and that no scratches or other damage occur on the print. The “tesa tape” method is the only method we use to check print quality and is widely recommended in the industry as a quick, repeatable and reliable test.
