The adhesion of the thermal transfer print is tested using the 'tesa tape' method (in accordance with ASTM F2252 self-adhesive test practice). The assessment consists of sticking and immediately pulling off the tape to check that the ink does not peel away from the surface and that there are no scratches or other damage to the print. The 'tesa tape' method is the only way we use to check print quality and is widely recommended in the industry as a quick, repeatable and reliable test.
